This concept is a wide leather bracelet where the zips actually display the current time when you hit the central buttons on the wrist. Each zip displays a digit, which you are supposed to combine together to read the time.

The Swatch concept watch by designer Allan George is basically aimed at the youth who like to wear trendy fashion.Allan’s concept simple does away with the glass face and replaces it with a plastic-rubber finish.

The colored hands peep out, behind a transparent rim, giving the watch a trendy and easy look!

Sensory Wristwatch

Developed by researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute the device monitors bio-indicators early on in an effort to prevent illness.

The watch will warn the wearer of issues such dehydration, a dangerously high body temperature, or high blood sugar levels in the case of a diabetic person. The lab-on-a-chip device will be customized depending on the wearer's needs.

At present this mechanism is still in the laboratory stage.

Concept : MEN2014 watch

Conceptualized by China’s Tao Ma, the MEN2014 watch would replace the hour, minute and second hands with screw heads which have a small red mark at the end to indicate the current position on the dial.

Concept : tokyoflash supersonic

The Supersonic has bold modern looks and a sleek smoked black hexagonal face.As with most Tokyoflash watches, half the fun is trying to figure out what the time is when you look at it. There are green and blue lines that represent the time, making no sense at all when you first glance at it. Perhaps this diagram will help clarify what’s going on:

Concept : Instant Trend Watch

TokyoFlash has an awesome concept watch, called the Instant Trend Watch which comes in black and packed with a big and clear OLED dot matrix display. This concept watch also follows the same trend of other TokyoFlash watches that show time in a pretty confusing way.

Other than the unique way of telling time, the Instant Trend Watch is able to pair with a Bluetooth-enabled cellphone to let you receive tweets and Facebook notifications right on the watch. The screen below shows you the different modes of telling time and also the micro-blogging messages shown across the watch’s display.

Concept : Time Lines by Denis Guidone

Breaking the traditional rules of telling the time, designer Denis Guidone has come up with an unusual wristwatch called the “Time Lines” that as indicated by its name features crisscross lines, meeting at the edges of the dial, to tell the time. Designed for Nava, the new wristwatch by the Milan designer makes use of random lines, which somehow pulls the correct time out of the haphazard lines.

The Time Lines is slated to be displayed at NAVA Design flagship store in Milan next week.

TAG HEUER PENDULUM CONCEPT: A RADICAL “OUT OF THE BOX” RETHINK OF MECHANICAL TIME REGULATION DESIGN AND PERFORMANCE


Since the creation of the Galileo-inspired hairspring by Christiaan Huygens in 1675, the regulating organ of all mechanical watches has been based on a balance wheel and spiral-shaped torsion hairspring system. With the challenge of temperature diminished by Guillaume’s alloys, the spiral hairspring regulation system came to dominate mechanical movement design. In the TAG Heuer Pendulum Concept, the traditional hairspring is replaced by an “invisible” or virtual spring derived from magnets. TAG Heuer Pendulum Concept, the world’s first oscillator in a mechanical movement without hairspring, beats at 43,200/hour (6 Hertz) — making it a superlative representative of TAG Heuer’s unique mastery of high frequencies and ultimate precision.




With the TAG Heuer Monaco V4 Concept Watch, TAG Heuer substituted the traditional pinion and gear transmission with a belt-driven mechanical transmission. Now, to mark its 150th anniversary, TAG Heuer proudly introduces the TAG Heuer Pendulum Concept, the first-ever mechanical movement without hairspring.

Concept : Tokyoflash E-ink Watch

The E Clock can tell the time using normal numbers, or through patterns of dashes and lines that you have to decipher. That’s not all. It connects to your phone via Bluetooth, and will alert you via vibration to tell you when you’ve got incoming calls or text messages

The band is made from flexible stainless steel, which forms a neat-looking bracelet. If this design gets enough votes, TokyoFlash will actually produce this thing. Now that’s cool.

Concept : Zero Wrist Watch

Zero Wrist watch is a pretty cool project by a german designer named Robert Dabi. He went back to the famous design rule: Simple and Stupid, and decided to design a watch as pur as could be. No numbers, no buttons, and just two circles. The inner one for hours, and the outer for minutes.

Maze Of Time Watch

The Maze Of Time watch uses colors in a kaleidoscopic way to represent the time. So when you see a chaotic yellow line below, it’s actually the number “1”. Blue is the number “2”, red color stands for “3”, and “4” corresponds to the green etc. Kinda TokyoFlash-esque and time to get your grey cells working!

Concept : Lock your time

The lock portion of the watch is the hours, the outer rim is the minutes. Metal! Runs nice like a normal analog watch. Needs a battery though, this one doesn’t run on steam or magic.

Concept : Geocentric watch

The “Geocentric” by Geoffrey Cooper, a human-centered designer with a keen perception of the world around him, is a sci-fi-inspired watch that employing a motion identical to planets rotating around the sun produces a mesmerizing spectacle.

Presenting a whole a new form of time telling, the watch features a number of rings, quite apparent on the dial, which keep rotating over and over again like a traditional time machine, creating a sense of awe and wonder among viewers.
