Aston Martin Rapide Watch Key

No more fumbling around looking for car keys or lugging chunky and unattractive key fobs around for owners of the new Aston Martin Rapide as Jaeger-LeCoultre has partnered with the car-maker to come out with this stylish AMVOX2 Transponder Rapide, a timepiece that does double-duty as a car key. Simply touch between the 8 and 9 to unlock, between the 3 and 4 to lock, or touch them both simultaneously to trigger the 'find me' feature where the headlamps light up for easy spotting.

The AMVOX2 Transponder Rapide is the result of over 18 months of research and engineering to miniaturize the car's transponder key in order to fit it into and around the workings of a timepiece without sacrificing style, and it can be yours for just £21,850 (or about $33,800).

Milus Minute Repeater TriRetrograde Limited Edition Watch

The Tirion style 46mm wide case is 14mm thick and in 18k rose gold. Inside the watch is a new movement for the brand to use (I believe). It is the hand wound caliber M08-35RM with a large 90 hours of power reserve. You can see the impressive movement through the watch caseback. Very nice look for a minute repeater with an interesting bridge design. Interestingly enough this movement has been COSC Chronometer certified, super rare among minute repeater watches.

The dial design has been changed just a bit. Notable is the centrally mounted hand for the date dial, as opposed to the previous watch that had the date at 6 o'clock (which I liked better). A bit more decoration on the dial itself for the Minute Repeater, as well as fancier movement decor through the partially open dial. Like I said, for a daily wear the much more reasonably priced automatic Tirion model makes a better choice, but the Minute Repeater will be a good collection marquee. The piece will be limited to 50 pieces.

Josh Chadwick Digital-Analog Watch

Winner of Design Philadelphia, a design competition put on by The Cadence Watch Company, Josh Chadwick’s Digital-Analog timepiece concept combines the design elements of an analog watch with the aesthetics of a digital display. Currently pursuing a masters degree in industrial design at Philadelphia’s University of the Arts, Chadwick effectively repurposes the characteristics of a classical timepiece in a nontraditional, elegant and modern package.

The face of the watch has a modern digital display while still functioning like a traditional analog watch; the informational display in the center of the watch provides additional information (date, day of the week, AM/PM), while the outer rings represent the minute and hour hands.

Similar to other nontraditional approaches to time-telling (like Nooka), the Digital Analog watch by Josh Chadwick is a sleek modern alternative for those looking for unique design aesthetic.

TeNo Steel DyRon Sport II Chronograph

As the brain child of the German Jewelery and watch manufacturer, Heinz Schwarz, the TeNo brand stands out primarily for its creative mixing of new and old materials. Distinguished by its bold use of red, white, and black, the New TeNo Steel DyRon Sport II Chronograph is no exception and in many ways seems designed to tease the minds of all who see it.

For instance, though its stainless steel case may only measure 40mm in diameter and 8mm thick, this time piece exudes a far heftier look and feel on the wrist, thanks in large part to its industrial rotating bezel and protruding chronograph push controls.

Clever detailing in the strap is another area where this watch can trick both watch fanatics and the fashion focused alike. Unquestionably sporty and the perfect companion to the unique coloration on the chronograph’s face, a quick glance may lead many to assume it’s made from rubber. In reality, this unique band is made from a combination of black and red indented leather that grabs plenty of attention on its own when peering from the side of sleeves. Additionally, the DyRon Sport II also features a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a Swiss quartz movement.

RESCO Patriot

WIS (watch idiot savants) like to hold long and protracted arguments over what constitutes a tool watch. R.E. Smith went a different direction. He started RESCO and built the tool watch he wanted…The Patriot. As a Navy SEAL instructor and former SEAL Team member he had an exacting vision of a watch that could fit his needs. RESCO’s first offering, the Patriot, will soon hit the market. Based around a automatic Slava S-2427 movement (the Iron Curtain irony is not lost on R.E.) it has a custom 42mm stainless case developed in conjunction with Lum-Tec. The Patriot has a host of other features you’d expect from a high end sport watch including:

  • 200m Water Resistance
  • 60 click unidirectional rotating bezel with 12hr GMT feature
  • PVD and Bead Blasted Stainless cases

The Patriot is a blunt watch. Its made to provide a rugged watch that will tell you the (right) time no matter the situation, and maybe look decent in the process. By all accounts its succeeding, a prototype has made it through all Phases of SEAL training, and continues to perform in advanced training.

The Manufacture visualized all possible forms of excess to create this exceptional model, from the patented folding clasp to the extraordinary lightness of the case.
For on the racetrack of Time, the most glorious trophies are won by a mere split second.

Glashütte PanoMaticLunar XL

The PanoMaticLunar XL presents the classic lines and look of the PanoMatic XL models in an understated, eloquent form. Set within the galvanized matt gray dial are the characteristic off-center hour/minute and subsidiary seconds dials, finely milled and galvanized in the same dark gray hue. The elegant moon phase display presents a shining silver moon and stars against a fine-grained silver sky.

Applied white gold Arabic numerals indicating hour 12 are framed by white gold hour markers and white gold hour, minute and seconds hands. Enhancing the minimalist design is the visually compelling panorama date display, whose white numerals on a dark gray ground present the date without the need for a double window. The 42mm stainless steel case offers both polished and satin-finished surfaces and is held securely in place by a finely-worked gray alligator strap. At the heart of the new PanoMaticLunar XL is the Caliber 90-02 automatic movement.

Its finely finished elements, the three-quarter plate, swan-neck fine adjustment, Glashütte ribbing and sunburst decoration, characteristic of the fine art of mechanical watch making at Glashütte Original, are clearly visible through a sapphire crystal case back.
